    BYSC Summer Camps offer kids the opportunity to experience the best of the Lowcountry: Sailing, kayaking, fishing, crabbing, swimming, arts and crafts, nature, tennis, field sports and games.

    Four levels of instruction are offered. Guppies: This program provides an introduction to the elements of basic seamanship for swimmers ages 6-7. Instruction covers rowing, basic sailing, knot tying, navigation, and an emphasis on developing confidence on the water. Learn to Sail: This program is for swimmers ages 8 to 17 with little or no sailing experience. Instruction covers the basics: rigging and unrigging, capsizing, rules of the road, sail trim, tacking and jibing. Intermediate: This program is the next level for sailors with a minimum of four weeks prior sailing instruction and the ability and confidence to “single-hand” a dinghy. Racing: The focus of this program is to prepare serious sailors for racing and competing. Individualized and group instructions are provided at all levels in order to continually build on acquired skills.

    Fellowship of Christian Athletes

    For middle and high school students. This day camp will feature four full days of golf or tennis professional instruction, competitive play.     Hilton Head Prep's Sizzling Summer Camps include 16 athletic, arts and skills camps throughout the summer. From soccer and volleyball to piano, design and chess, there is something of interest for everyone. Many camps are available for half-days and full-days. For working families, there is an "early bird" option with drop-off beginning at 8 a.m., as well as Camp Club PM with late pickup until 6 p.m., for an additional cost. The day camp is for youth entering grades 7-12, and will be split into two divisions -- a Junior camp (grades 7-9) and Senior Camp (grades 10-12). No audition is required, but students should have 1-2 years experience on their instrument and basic skill reading music. The camp will run from 9am-5pm for older students, with a shorter 3 hour-day option for junior students. Students will study in a large jazz ensemble, small combos, master classes and private lessons. They will learn improvisation, jazz theory, along with a jazz repertoire covering a wide range of genres of jazz. Students will also get to experience a local performance at a real jazz club - The Jazz Corner - along with presenting their own finale concert on Saturday, July 14.

    Auditions may be required depending on age, experience, and number of applicants. -- In this workshop led by Rick Hubbard, aspiring comedians will get an opportunity to practice technique, write material, work in ensemble units, and test their stand-up comedy skills. Additional guidance will be offered by John Biddle, professional stand-up comedian and owner of the Hilton Head Comedy Club. Students will use molds to pour and create their very own mask in different variations and then act without using facial expression but instead focus on body movement and pantomime.

    Join Yostie for storytelling and create your own puppets that can dance, sing and tell stories. Each participant will make a cardboard stage for performing and their own puppet using beach noodles and other supplies. Join us for all the fun!

    Learn balancing, crystal stix, juggling, and performing skills. Each student will receive a set of Crystal Stix and Juggling Balls of their own. This workshop will build confidence as we learn basic balancing, Crystal Stix techniques, and then a simple cascade juggling pattern. Those already familiar with basic juggling will learn advance techniques with rings and clubs.
