How many HHI, Bluffton residents remember when kids could get horse rides at Tanger 1?
Times change and the water is getting much wider between SOB and NOB in the last thirty years.
Remember when there was a Morrison's cafeteria on Hilton Head? And not even one restaurant in Bluffton?

not quite that far back.....but i do remember
when the only light in Bluffton was at Moss Creek and technically that is HHI I think for USPS purposes.
I also remember out by McGarvey's Corner (is that it at 278 and 170?) when you took a 2 lane road built on old tabby piers to come from 170 southbound or northbound. You can still see the piers.
LOL_ just kidding-but there was a 2 lane road there. Not on Tabby piers.
I remember when it was a pain in the butt to date a girl who lived in Spanish Wells. All the way around the island! What a problem! AT that time I lived in HH Resort(4 seasons back then-but far from it). After that, with the same girl, I moved to North Forest Beach. Want to talk about adding time. This was such a long ride that it took about 90 minutes to get from NFB to the Savannah airport before they had 278 linking to I-95.
One time after work on a Thursday in the summer, during the rain, there was a traffic jam on 278 on the island both directions because of a wreck. Bad wreck. I spent 3 hours in Lone Star in the mall gettin saucey on 50 cent drafts and eating peanuts. If someone had to stay in that mall now for 3 hours, they would go crazy! Do I hear someone saying "Movie theater?"
Let's hear some more "I remember when..." It's fun

I remember the arcade at the entrance to the mall. I remember 1 day going to may River Acadamy in Bluffton during the mearger with Sea Pines Acadamy to form Prep. It was so wild to head out to Bluffton b/c I did not know anyone actually lived out there. When we needed something, we would pass bluffton to head for Sav. The area was better off back then.
