Can't believe I am into the 7th week (44 days) changing my life forever! This morning as I was leaving Beach City Health and Fitness Center following my 45 minutes workout with Christina, my personal trainer and 20 minutes of cardio; I began to focus on how good God has been to me. It is such a beautiful day and I feel so much better!! I am so very thankful for all the help Don and his staff give me and my team members to improve our health. They are all so caring and supportive! I was sick for eleven days, but did not miss a day working out. Everyday I entered the fitness center Don, the owner would always ask, "how are your feeling" as well as his staff. Christina was so good to help me continue throught the workouts with great concern for my health. I appreciate her and sure do need her help to reach my goal, which is 59 more pounds to loss.

Donnie Jo's 4th & 5th Week Update on Battle of the Bludge
Submitted by dthibault on February 27, 2006 - 11:56am.Didn't hear from me last week due to being out of town on business, but I am still on track. I have now lost 15 pounds and down a full dress/pants size, YEAH! I was in the hotel fitness center everyday doing cardio for 1 hour and stayed on my low calorie diet the entire time. I sure did miss my trainer, Christina. I began to get sick on Thursday and still not feeling well today, but was up at 5:30AM and meet with the group at 6AM for a group workout. Sick or not I must stay on track, so cheer me on! Everyone is working very hard and I really enjoy seeing them workout and chat about their progress.

Donnie Jo's 3rd wk. report
Submitted by dthibault on February 14, 2006 - 6:24pm.Well..... week number three has ended and I am down by eleven pounds and it was not easy! I am still working hard with my trainer Christina three days a week at Beach City Health and Fitness Center and working out the other three days on cardio. She is killin me!! However, I am very thankful for her and I need her to keep on pushing me to the limit. "I KNOW I CAN DO IT CHRISTINA!" Sure do wish my friends, family, and co-workers would send me some encouraging words. Oh, thanks Big Sister for your support. I will be ready to spend lots of time in your pool this summer and I am going to certainly be ready to get back into my bathing suit by June. I have missed those good times!
Donnie Jo's 2nd week Battle
Submitted by dthibault on February 6, 2006 - 5:55pm.Well another week of hard work with Christina (my personal trainer) has ended and we began week number three this morning at 6:30AM. Christina has me sweating and moving every other day for 30 - 45 minutes and without stopping for anything. She keeps my heart rate up! I always get to the gym around 6AM and work out on the treadmill for 20 to 30 minutes before starting with Christina. Following my work out with Christina, I then spend another 30 minutes on the stepper. I am feeling stronger by the day and have so much more energy! I sure do have some sore muscles, but it is worth it. I am in bed and asleep by 9 - 9:30 almost every night. Thank goodness for my loving husband, Tom! He is my biggest supporter and makes sure I am awake with feet on the floor by 5:30AM. I meet with John Paul from Hilton Head Regional Medical Center to discuss my food journal. He indicated I needed to eat more and made several recommendations. Thanks Christina and John Paul for your help! Can't wait until 5:30AM rolls around again. HAHA

Donnie Jo's 1st blog / 1st week results for Battle of the Bulge
Submitted by dthibault on January 30, 2006 - 1:13pm.I would like to say "thank you" to Michelle and The Island Packet, Don and Christina with Beach City Health and Fitness Center, and John Paul with Hilton Head Regional Medical Center for this incredibale opportunity. I am so exictied to know with your guidance, I am going improve my health and longevity. My goals is not just to lose 75 pounds. I am commitmented to leading a healthier lifestyle through exercise and the weight-loss program you have provided.
I began last Monday morning (January 23rd) by meeting with my personal trainer, Christina, for my intinal weigh-in, measurements and metabolic rate test. Following the results ("OH MY GOODNESS!") I worked out on the treadmill for 30 minutes and then the stepper for another 30 minutes. Later that evening our group, the Hilton Head team meet for photos and a group picture. After the brief introduction , I traveled to Columbia for a business trip. I was at the hotel fitness center each morning at 6AM until 7:30AM and each evening for another 30 minutes cardio work-out. It was diffult to diet, but I did fairly well by eating in moderation and excluding sugar, bread, potatoes, etc (all the good stuff). I returned to Hilton Head late Thursday evening and was back at Beach City Fitness Center by 6AM on Friday moring. Saturday our group meet with Don, owner and trainer at Beach City Health and Fitness Center, for some FUN! He worked us hard and yes we did have fun. Thanks Don!
